Trinity University’s Compact Storage System
LDS Group USA (Library Design Systems), an Authorized Montel Distributor serving Texas and Oklahoma, is pleased to announce the completion of the powered compact storage system upgrade for the Trinity University, Elizabeth Huth Coates Library in San Antonio, Texas.
To help the Elizabeth Huth Coates Library improve its organization and optimize its library space in the early 2000s, Trinity University had selected Montel to mount existing library shelving to Montel’s provided motorized mobile storage shelving systems. By utilizing mobile shelving, the new electrical compact systems occupied 62% of the previous library shelving space, which reduced 520 square feet of space for needed library services and functions.
Recently, LDS Group USA was awarded a contract to furnish, deliver and install new electronic components to upgrade the original installed powered mobile storage system. More specifically, in conjunction with Montel’s electrical engineering team, LDS Group USA supplied Trinity University new control boards with latest generation of software and new SafeAisle® movement controls for each mobile carriage.
"Trinity University is very pleased to have upgraded our high-density powered mobile library shelving system", said Jason Hardin, Manager of Access Services at Trinity University, Elizabeth Huth Coates Library. "Upgrading our Montel electrical compact storage system will allow our students and personnel to benefit from improved safety and security features."
