As equipment director for the Florida Atlantic University Owls, Nathan Hinkley knows what it takes to keep student athletes and coaches focused on gameday: clean laundry, and lots of it.

But it’s what Nathan and his team does with those fresh jerseys—and shoulder pads, and cleats, and helmets—that makes all the difference. When players lose track of equipment or don’t have the equipment they need in the moment, they lose valuable time that could be better spent in the gym, at a team meeting, or out on the field. That disorganization compounds and always finds its way back to the equipment managers, who lose time to clean, prep, and restock.

And don’t forget, these student athletes and equipment managers are students first. Any time saved is time they have to get to class on time, write papers, study for tests, or even just hang out with their peers. Looking for a fresh mouth guard or reorganizing a cluttered shelf shouldn’t get in the way of the college experience.

With a brand-new equipment space dedicated solely to the football team, the FAU Owls were on the hunt for sports equipment storage that accommodated everything players and their coaches needed, and supported Nathan and his managers as they performed their routine duties.

Solution

Nathan and the FAU Owls worked with Workplace Technologies, an Authorized Montel Distributor, to design a one-of-a-kind Montel Mobilex mechanical-assist mobile storage system complete with clothing racks, bins, and additional accessories to speed up organization, restocking, and more.
