Montel’s GROWRAK HD is the heavy-duty version of its little brother GROWRAK. It is engineered for higher-capacity vertical farming applications and for taller static or mobile grow systems.
Montel’s GROWRAK HD vertical grow racks are available as static units or mounted on either GROW&ROLL®8MA or GROW&ROLL®8P mobile carriages.

NO DIAGONAL BRACING OPTIMIZES AIRFLOW*
For better airflow, the diagonal upright frame bracing has been replaced with horizontal bracing, though there is enough spacing for oversize or infinite trays to pass through the upright frames.
Diagonal bracing may be required to provide greater structural rigidity for certain applications and installations in seismic-prone areas.
CUSTOMIZABLE BRACING:
The horizontal frame bracing can be customized to increase airflow between levels or accommodate ventilation system ducts, lighting fixtures, and other utilities. The bottom horizontal frame bracing can also be customized to provide desired for pipes, fittings, and other utilities just above floor level.
Custom bracing and loading capacities require engineering approval.
STANDING WATER PREVENTION
The beams are designed to minimize standing water, and the optional wire mesh decking is designed with inverted reinforcements to prevent standing water.
FLUSH OR SLOPED UNIVERSAL SUPPORTS:
The front-to-back flush or sloped universal supports are designed to accommodate trays, and hang lighting fixtures.
The inclined supports allow for easy drainage:
- Trays sloped over 8 feet (2,4m).
- Trays sloped over the full length of the racking row.

- The front-to-back universal supports integrate seamlessly with LED lights, and allow for various lighting attachment positions.
- Brackets plus mounting hardware are available to hang numerous models of LED light fixtures, and Montel’s built-in rack LoopAir® patent pending dual ventilation system.
WIRE MESH DECKING:
- In lieu of front-to-back supports to hold trays, hang lighting, or attach other utilities, you may opt for wire mesh decking.
- The wire mesh decking provides numerous LED lighting attachment possibilities.
- The wire mesh decking is designed with upside down reinforcements to eliminate standing water.
- As for the top level, front to back supports may be ideal rather than wire mesh decking to hold light fixtures.
BEAM ADJUSTABILITY
The beams are adjustable at 3” (7.62 cm) increments and lock safely into the tapered holes of the upright frames. The welded uprights facilitate the assembly process.
WELDED UPRIGHT FRAMES:
The two C-shaped welded upright frames facilitate assembly. They are designed for strength and lifetime sustainability.
