With 100 years of saving space history under Montel’s belt, Montel’s engineers knew exactly how to approach Cannerald’s situation: a high-density mobile vertical growing system with ergonomic, mechanical-assist SafeCrank handles and integrated lighting, irrigation, and ventilation systems built into every carriage.
For an up-and-coming cannabis business, high standards are a blessing and a curse. A good PRODUCT serves the customer well and strengthens the reputation of the business. But when it comes time to expand to meet the demand created by a growing customer base, past successes are difficult to scale, especially where land is expensive to buy and warehouses are expensive to rent. But for Levin Amweg, co-founder of Cannerald, a Swiss-based medical cannabis research and production company facing this very struggle, there is no alternative. Quality is everything. “We set quality at the highest point,” Levin said, “so we wanted the same for our equipment.”
It starts with two-tier high-density mobile vertical grow racks, customized to accommodate LED lighting, fans, watering devices, and monitoring equipment that tracks the health of each plant. On the end panel of each carriage is a SafeCrank handle, designed to move hundreds of plants and the technology to care for them with minimal effort. These mechanical-assist handles include push-button locks for keeping the aisles open for growers or locking them down to secure the PRODUCT and protect it from overhandling.
In each of Cannerald’s two main flower rooms, Montel’s four two-tiered vertical grow racks effectively doubled their growing potential and cut their footprint in half, all while making it easier for growers to care for their plants. The Cannerald team was so pleased with the installation and performance of the high-density mobile vertical growing systems in their flower rooms that they plan on adding five more carriages to the back of their facility. And when Levin and his partners do expand their factory footprint, they’ll do it with the efficiency of Montel’s solutions in mind, saving money and growing their business intelligently.
We set quality at the highest point. So we wanted the same for our equipment.
